This fantastic DVD looks at racehorse ownership by means of a syndicate, covering the highs and lows and the social aspect of the sport. Also, it’s informative, giving practical advice on how to set up a syndicate and find a racehorse. The story is entertaining, it’s true (caught in real time) and without giving the story away, it features a thrilling race. It is suitable viewing for all (not only for the serious punter).

To do this the programme follows the fortunes of two syndicates and two racehorses through the 2008/2009 National Hunt season. It includes interviews with HRI, racehorse trainers, a bloodstock agent, syndicate members including the colourful Charlie Chawke, a syndicate agent and the former Minister for Sport John O’ Donoghue.

The syndicates featured are the Goat Racing Syndicate who own the famous  Forpadydeplasterer and the River Syndicate who own/lease Presenting Lucy (apt in today’s climate). The DVD contains footage from their major races. Released November 2009.
